My JW father, I bet he's dissapointed in my ass!
by dawg ini was just sitting here laughing, thinking about how disapointed my father must be in me... what?

If your God were in charge...
by nvrgnbk inwhat would the world be like?.
for example, today orthodox jews and christians don't kill witches and homosexuals because they can't legally.. but if things were as their god decreed in the bible, they'd be dead.. islam, when it has enough power to enforce it's laws, summarily kills and dismembers those that offend allah.. so if you're unhappy with all the gays and druggies and atheists and witches and hippies, are you secretly longing for the day when your deity of choice exterminates them?.

freedom of thought and religion does not play well together.
anyway, my god, the invisible pink unicorn IS in charge. she just raptured another sock out of my washing machine today. -

Do you still believe in God
by solidergirl ini was wondering why da or df jw no longer believe in god when they make up their mind to no longer attend a meeting.
first off let's not say that all of us become athiest when leaving.
many on this board believe in god.

there's absolutely no single reason to believe in god. those who do, don't do so because they "found god", but because they were indoctrinated that there is a god. same sh*t as JW, different colour. it dont matter to me though if they are happy with it and don't threaten other people with their version of hell or harmagedon. some people just can't live without an invisible friend.

Tell Me About Your Jehovah's Witness Mother...If You had One!
by new boy inso since no one picked up the ball, after my thread on "your jw father".....here we go.... my mother (bless her heart) was born in kansas in 1926....her mother died in 1934, when my mother was 8 years old.
she died trying to give yourself an abortion with a coat hanger.
it was the "great depression".....she was 34 years old 4 kids and a 5th on the way...my grandfather would blow through town just long enough to "knock her up" and leave....no money....no hope.

my mother is the greatest mom on earth, if you know what i'm talking about. sadly she's sacrificing most of her time to the old creeps in brooklyn by serving as a pioneer. since she started pioneering she wont stop talking about field service on any occasion. it's hard to have a normal conversation without drifting into the pioneering part.
but i know i cannot change that, and she seems to be happy with it - so what. at least she's not one of those who follow the society to the letter. she'd never stop talking with her disfellowshipped family members (but you can guess what topic always comes up). and she'd have her own thoughts about many things. but she got her own twisted JW theology that would never make her leave. -

Witness Takes Blood
by Locutus of Borg inmrs lob works in heath care admin.. last night she tells me there is an adult witness (in good standing that we knew while in) on her floor that is taking transfusions for a medical condition.
that's all i know, no name, no gender, no age, no medical condition details.
mrs lob takes hippa very seriously.

every non-(X)JW reading this must think "how sick are these people, being happy about a blood transfusion"...
but it's great when someone makes his/her own decision instead of obeying some old cracks in brooklyn. -

Where does a JW start to research?? It's all LIES
by horrible life ini came to jwd because i was angry and scared of a person.
in my anger, i wanted to scream about my past life as a jw.
as a jw, if i was told to research, where would i start?

if they just started reading the sources the WTO gets it twisted quotes from, it would be more than enough to wake up.

Was Jesus raised from the grave in a "fleshly" since or as a spirit?
by babygirl75 inthis has come up in conversation with my husband.
i think the jw's taught that jesus was raised as a spirit.
if this is so, what happened to his body?

the gospel of judas explains that jesus was raised as kentucky fried chicken. that's also the reason why his disciples didn't recognize him right away.

got it ;) on here you never know if you are dealing with a born again bible student or a fellow atheist... having a prayer section would be ok with me though - simultaneously transposed to allah, odin and quezalcoatl.
oh yes, those songs would be perfect. what about "jehovah made this whole joint for you"?
